Zack Phillips loves tweaking sounds. He has a unique approach that is part science, part mysticism. He is fueled by his deep love for music, a passion that ignited growing up in NYC in the 80‘s. He draws on his background as club DJ and live sound engineer, his formal education in Audio Engineering, and years of experience working for other studios like the Plant and Hyde Street. In 2005, Zack Founded, FreqLab Recording with the goal of creating a platform for more progressive innovation and inventive production methods. Josh has been working with audio professionally for the last decade. At 19, he got his start with a band and a 4 track and fell in love with audio from there. He works with local SF punk rock bands mostly, but enjoys a lot of different styles and genres of music. When he is not in the studio he is doing live sound for bands in clubs like Slim’s, Bottom of the Hill, and Café Du Nord. You can also find him in other parts of the world on tour with No Use For A Name (Fat Wreck Chords).

Born and raised in San Francisco, Gabriel Shepard has been a music lover all his life. When he was 8 years old he opened up a favorite cassette that had broken, and performed his first splice with scissors and masking tape. There was no turning back; he was hooked. With piles of tapes with songs recorded off the radio still sitting in his closet 15 years later, he decided to go to school to learn the art of recording. From there to historic Hyde Street Studios he assisted for the likes of Mark Needham, Tom Flye, and The Scientist.
For the past 15 years he’s been engineering at some of the top studios in the Bay Area where he earned a platinum and gold record with the band Cake.

Starita is a lifelong musician with over 14 years of experience as an engineer and producer. He started his career at the famous Hyde Street Studios later moving to EDNET where he had the pleasure of being the ISDN engineer for clients such as Rick Rubin, Sting, Warner Bros, Universal Motown and many others.
This propelled his career to working for Dolby for 5 years until he decided to go back to doing what he really loved...making records.
